White Rock

White Rock is a beautiful town located on the ocean almost at the US Border. It has long been a summer destination for Vancouverites seeking sun and wonderful beaches but not too far from Vancouver. It was originally one of the CPR destinations for summer picnickers, who would travel out by train and spend the day at the beach in the thirties and forties. Today, White Rock has its share of retirees but it is also a growing and bustling community with lots of shopping, activities and beautiful scenery for everyone.

On 152nd Street in downtown White Rock, the Semiahmoo Mall is the retail centre piece. They have lots of stores and services and you will always find something unique such as Cheryl’s Trading Post which opened earlier this year. Besides offering an array of quality First Nation’s art, they offer a wide range of winter sweaters, parkas and shoals.

There are actually several shopping areas in White Rock, Elgin Corners Mall, Grandview Corners Shopping District and the Peninsula Village Mall.

If golfing is what you like to do the Morgan Creek Golf Course is not far away. They also have restaurant and wine bar which sounds pretty good. Check them out for tournaments, weddings and banquets as well.

If you are looking for a place to stay near by, try the Pacific Inn Resort & Conference Centre back out on the highway.

Another golf course located closer to the border is the Peace Portal Golf Course.
